Scrabble tourney to benefit day school slated for Saturday

Get ready to create as many words as you can and take part in the second annual Trinity-by-the-Sea Day School’s Scrabble Tournament Benefit on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The Civic Center will be filled with word-smiths from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., to compete and win prizes.

The Civic Center is located at 710 W. Ave. A.

Participants are asked to be there at 5:30 for registration, orientation and dinner. The games will begin at 6:30 p.m.

While playing Scrabble, participants may enjoy food, drinks and music and have a chance to win prizes.

The tournament is free to enter, and folks may register as part of a team or individually. Organizers will set up individuals with others to form teams.

In addition, there will be a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.

To pre-register to play, contact Selena Gargano at (860) 917-9249 or email at selenagargano@gmail.com or Nana Ward at (361) 749-6448 or email trinitybytheseadayschool@gmail.com.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the day school.

Trinity Day School began in 1999 as an outreach ministry of Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. Initially, it operated as a Parent’s Day Out program serving ages 2, 3 and 4, two mornings per week. It quickly grew to accommodate families that needed full-time care. A half-day pre-kindergarten program was added to fill the void left by the halfday public pre-kindergarten program.
