The following are upcoming events and activities sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department. For more information or to register for events, call 749-4158.

This Week

Interval Training

Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7 a.m. at the Civic Center, 710 W. Ave. A. Personal trainer Karen Decker leads the class for all ages and fitness levels. $3 per session, $30 for 15 sessions. Open to men and women, bring a mat and water. A second class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon at the Civic Center. Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Oct. 2, both classes will meet at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

Total Body Aquasize

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 a. m. and Saturdays at 12 p.m. Community Park pool. Total body workout to upbeat music. Strengthen all major muscle groups with AAAI trained water aerobics instructor Sally Jo Bartlett. $2 per class. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, class time changes to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday.

Water Aerobics

Tuesdays through Fridays at 12 p.m. Community Park pool. Exercising in the pool for any age and ablility level. $2 per class.

Deep Water Aerobics

Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 a.m. Aerobic exercising with belts to keep you afloat in the deep end of the pool. $2 per class. Port Aransas Community Park pool.

Sunset Yoga in the Park

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. Certified yoga instructor Lianne Thomas leads the class. Patsy Jones Amphitheater in Roberts Point Park. Bring a mat or towel. $2 per session.

Beach Walk

Friday, September 25, at 9 a.m. Shirley Fischer leads the walk searching for beach finds. Meet at the purple flag by Horace Caldwell Pier. Free.

RPG Game Night

Fridays and Saturdays. Gamers ages 16 to college age are invited to play Pathfinder, Star Wars RPG and Mutants and Mastermids beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Girl Scout Hut inside the parks and recreation building, 739 W. Ave. A. Free.

Nature Yoga

Sundays at 7 a. m. Brittany Young will lead the class to stretch both body and spirit. Meets at the pavilion in the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture. $2 per session.

Birding on the Boardwalk

Wednesdays at 9 a.m. Free guided bird walk with local guide Nan Dietert. Open to everyone, novice to expert. Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center.
