Port Aransas beach opening to vehiclesFree Access

The beach in Port Aransas is opening to vehicles this morning (Saturday, Oct. 10), according to Rick Adams, the city’s emergency management director.

Tides made extra high by Hurricane Delta have subsided, Adams said.

Workers began removing barricades on beach access roads between 8 and 9 a.m. today, he said.

By order of Port Aransas Mayor Charles Bujan, the beach was closed to vehicles beginning about 8 p.m. Thursday to avoid problems associated with the higher-than-usual tides.
