City, municipal offices to close for New Year’s Day


Folks at City Hall and other municipal offices will ring in the New Year by taking some time off.

City of Port Aransas business offices and Municipal Court will be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

Police, EMS and the fire department personnel will be on duty; however, administrative offices will be closed.

The Community Park pool remains closed for repairs.

The RTA trolley and the Flexi- B service will not operate on New Year’s Day. Normal hours of operation will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. Reservations for the Flexi-B for the Thursday following New Year’s must be made before 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27.

The City Collection Station (dump) will be closed on New Year’s Day. Normal hours of operation will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Sanitation service will run as usual on Tuesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve. There will be no sanitation service pickup on New Year’s Day. Sanitation service will resume on Thursday. The scheduled Wednes- day pickups will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2. Pickups scheduled for Thursday will be pushed to Friday, and Friday service will be picked up on Saturday.

The Dennis Dreyer Municipal Harbor office will be closed on Jan. 1.

All city offices will resume normal schedules on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Offices of the Nueces County Water Control and Improvement District No. 4 will be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1. Normal operating hours will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.

For any water leaks or other water emergencies, call the number previously listed and leave a message. On-call personnel will contact you.
