Doctors reported that Port Aransas Mayor Charles Bujan “did very well” in heart surgery today, Monday, July 22, according to his wife, Sherri Bujan.
Charles Bujan, 74, had four bypasses done for his heart at Doctor’s Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi, his wife said.
The mayor is expected to remain in the hospital for five to seven days, Sherri Bujan said.
In an earlier interview, Charles Bujan said he learned during a doctor visit on June 14 that he had blockages around his heart. Surgery then was scheduled.
