To Our Friends, Customers, Visitors, and Valued Patrons. As you have heard effective May 8, 2025 IGA will become a Lowe’s Supermarket. We would like to take this opportunity to THANK EVERYONE in the community as well as our visitors. The IGA has been open almost non-stop since April of 1967. It was first opened by Mr. I. B. Magee who was later joined by Mr. Bill Gaskins Jim Magee and Mike Hall joined the operation over 50 years ago and have come to the point in their lives where they are looking forward to beginning a new chapter. Jim and Janie and Mike as well all plan to remain in Port Aransas as this is home to them. They hope to see many of you in the normal course of Island living. We will miss our many friends and associates. It has been an honor to serve the community for so many years. Words cannot express our gratitude for the kind support Port Aransans have shown throughout the years. Thank you SO much for being such an important part of our business We believe we have left the store in good hands. Lowe’s Market is also small town, community minded and has a fine reputation.
