Port Aransas voters chose Chad Shimaitis as their newest city council member and Charles Joyce as their newest school board trustee, according to Election Day results today, Saturday, May 3.
In the race for Place 1 on the Port Aransas City Council, Shimaitis got 383 votes, while opponent Karen Valentine got 242 votes, according to unofficial results released by Port Aransas City Secretary Francisca Nixon.
In the race for Place 4 on the Port Aransas ISD Board of Trustees, Joyce garnered 324 votes, while Louisa Green got 240 votes.
