Take a tour of Port Aransas, enjoy viewing a variety of artwork and even purchase some work to take home.

The seventh annual PA Art About is on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m.

PA- Art About is a free self-guided tour of 17 galleries and studios throughout Port Aransas.

 

 

A map is available at any location along the route that travels from Old Town to South State Hwy. 361.

At each venue one can meet the artists, view their art and enjoy refreshments.

The gallery and studio locations are as follows:

1)Port A Glass Studio, glass studio and art gallery, artist Sheri Hargrove works with glass as her medium, 600 Cut-off Road, Suite 7.

2)Deidrea Lyon and Ida Paulken Studio, figurative clay works and paintings, 318 W. Cotter Ave., #10.

3) Island Made Art Studios, art in a variety of mediums, 722 Tarpon St., Suite L1.

4)Tim Burdick Photography and Gallery, photography featuring a visual exploration of Port Aransas and prints on a variety of mediums, 722 Tarpon St., L1.

5)Potters on Cotter, photo cards, jewelry and other works, 413 E. Cotter Ave.

6) Debra Wilbanks Williams Studio, award-winning Texas artist opens her studio once a year for the Art About, 118 W. White St.

7) Fish on the Line Boutique, locally handcrafted items, illustrations and custom pet portraits by Brittney Maynard, 345 N. Alister St., Suite E2.

8)Port Aransas Museum, Coastal Paint Out artists sell their work created over the four-day paint out; all sales benefit the Port Aransas Museum and Farley Boat Works, 408 N. Alister St.

9) Amy Sullivan Studio, first time to open her studio to the public, pottery and sculpture, 310 Laurel St.

10) Port Aransas Art Center, “Round the Bend Invitational Show” and artist demonstration inside the center and a fish printing demonstration outside, 323 N. Alister St.

11)Cita Resort Interiors, eclectic art, home furnishings, clothing and jewelry from all over the world, 129 N. Alister St.

12)Donna Van Baalen Studio, working studio where one can view works in progress and paintings in miniature, oil paintings of all sizes and subject matter, 303 S. Station St.

13)Coffee Waves Art, local artist Timothy McBride’s and Mary Chriss of Austin and Port Aransas, view their works and get a free scoop of gelato, 1007 S. Hwy. 361.

14)Studio L. Leon, oil on canvas, using various mediums, manipulating the surfaces to achieve blistered and distressed nuances he calls “decomposing realism,” 1307 Whispering Sands St.

15)Felder Gallery, fine art, focus is ocean art, features the work of Larry Felder and other artists, 1726 S. Hwy. 361

16)A Mano, folk art and handmade art from colonial Mexico, Talavera ceramics, 1726 S. Hwy. 361.

17) Mustang Island Art Gallery, works of Flint Reed along with 27 additional nationally known award-winning artists in oil and watercolor paintings, bronze sculpting, wood bird carvings and turnings and pottery, 2222 S. Hwy. 361.

The annual Art About is sponsored by the Port Aransas Art Center, a 501 (C) (3) organization and the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau.
