Sand pumpkin carving still happening todayFree Access

Sand pumpkin carving reportedly still is happening on the beach in Port Aransas today (Saturday, Oct. 25), despite the weather.

The free event is at Marker 18, not Avenue G, where it earlier was planned.

Folks of all ages are invited to the beach to carve faces on pre-made sand pumpkins created by sand sculptors. Volunteers are on hand with sand carving tools to assist.

The event is sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, which will be collecting nonperishable food items at the sculpting location. The items will be donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
