Amanda Safford and Nick Magee of San Antonio were married at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Community Presbyterian Church in Port Aransas.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Vernett Safford of Port Aransas, and the granddaughter of the late Rev. P.G. and Jessie Safford and the late Vernie and Charlene Smith. Standing for her grandparents were her great aunt and uncle, Mary Ethel “Maime” and Bob Stucker of Orlando, Fla., and Ila Mae and Larry Fishburn of Port Aransas.
The groom is the son of Jim and Janie Magee, also of Port Aransas. He is the grandson of the late Jean and I.B. Magee Jr. and the late Dr. Curand and Ann Rothe. Standing for his grandparents were Dr. John “Boppy” and Terry “Momo” Maddox of Port Aransas.
The ceremony was performed by the bride’s father and Dr. John Judson, pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.
The bride was attended by maid of honor Anneke Wardlaw of Dallas and bridesmaids Liz Trimble of San Antonio, Gena Brown of Port Aransas and Libby Judson of San Antonio.
Best man was the groom’s cousin, Patrick Magee of San Antonio. Groomsmen were Kevin Safford of Worcester, Mass., brother of the bride; Kevin Hall of Port Aransas and Donovan Kypke of San Marcos. Junior groomsman was Michael Safford of Port Aransas, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Darby Orgain, Romulo Arroyo and David Powell, all of Austin.
Flower girls were Jessica LaFond of Jacksonville, Fla., cousin of the bride and Ava Williams of San Antonio. Ringbearers were Maxwell Keyt of Connecticut, cousin of the bride, and Johnny Garner of Port Aransas.
The bride wore a true-white strapless a-line satin gown with sequins trimming the top of the bodice and outer edge of the train. Her only footwear was barefoot jewelry.
The maid of honor wore a pink tealength dress and barefoot jewelry, and the bridesmaids wore sage green tealength dresses and barefoot jewelry.
The groom and his groomsmen wore black tuxedoes, the groom with a white vest and tie, the best man with a pink vest and tie, and the groomsmen with green vests and ties. All were barefoot.
The bridal party rode in golf carts from the church to the reception at the Tarpon Inn courtyard.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Dolphin Room at Cline’s Landing Condominiums the evening before the ceremony.
The bride is a student at The University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in early childhood education.
The groom graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
After a Caribbean cruise, the couple will be at home in San Antonio.
