Prayer service to be held for Port Aransas communityFree Access

A public prayer service, led by locals in the Port Aransas community, is going to be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Robert’s Point Park.

“The event is being held to provide a place for communal prayer and healing following deaths in and around the community,” said Kelby McCan, a co-organizer of the event.

The nondenominational prayer service is open to all.

“We’re just going to be there to say prayers for those that we’ve lost, those that we love, and then also prayers over our community, that these tragedies can be learned from, but also that we can move forward as a community and hopefully into brighter days,” McCan said.

The event is open to the public. Those looking to attending can bring their own chairs if needed.
