Man dead after reported drowningFree Access

A man is dead after a reported drowning at the beach on Mustang Island, south of Port Aransas, on Friday, July 4, police said.
Police were summoned to the 11000 block of Gulf Beach shortly after 3 p.m. “in reference to a drowning,” said Madeline Vaughn, a Corpus Christi Police Department spokesman.
“A male in his 50s had already been pulled from the water and administered CPR when officers arrived,” Vaughn said. “Medics transported the male to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”
The man’s name wasn’t released.
