Christopher A. Morgan, center, a licensed paramedic with Port Aransas EMS, and Joshua Veracruz, right, an EMT basic with EMS, received recognitions of achievement from the City of Port Aransas during a City Council meeting on Oct. 20. Morgan has become a licensed paramedic and graduated with his associate’s degree in applied science in para-medicine. Morgan also has also received his Texas Commission on Fire Protection certification and is a certified firefighter. Veracruz has achieved his firefighter 2 and will test for his Texas Commission on Fire Protection certification this month. Pictured on the left is Daniel Johnson, city paramedic director. Johnson said the goal is to become a dual certified department for EMS and firefighting.
