Port Aransas youngsters will set up shop and sell everything from potted plants to handmade jewelry at the second annual Young Entrepreneur Market on Sunday, April 10.
The market will operate from 1 to 4 p.m. outside a residence at 426 E. Cotter Ave.
Six kids, ages 9 to 13, so far have signed up to operate booths at the market, according to Kristi Littleton, a Port Aransas resident who is organizing the event. Up to 10 children might take part, she said.
In addition to plants and jewelry, items expected to be sold include cookies, candles, original artwork and dog treats.
Littleton said the market is meant to teach children about business by having them make or otherwise acquire their own products, price them, sell them and keep the profits. It’s the second year the market will take place.
Youths who are up through high school-age may take part.
Parents of children who’d like to get involved should call Littleton at (361) 779- 6487.
