Volunteers needed for stormwater project

The City of Port Aransas is seeking volunteers to help with a stormwater improvement project – a storm drain marker installation on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Volunteers will install 700 markers along sidewalks in Port Aransas from 9 a.m. to noon.

Meet at the small pavilion at Roberts Point Park to receive instructions, learn how to properly install the markers, receive route assignments and get supplies.

Volunteers will work in teams of three. Each team will need a driver with a golf cart or vehicle to work the assigned routes.

Those wanting to volunteer should register at porta. recdesk.com.

Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Be sure to bring plenty of water and dress for the weather.

Following the installations, volunteers will be provided with a picnic lunch at Roberts Point Park.

The City of Port Aransas along with Clean Coast Texas are working to help educate the community about the importance of keeping our storm drains clear of debris and contaminants.
