Toys, cash donations are sought

Pick up an extra toy or two for the annual Emergency Services Toy Roundup while out doing some Black Friday shopping.

Port Aransas Emergency Services personnel have been collecting toys and cash to purchase toys for needy Port Aransas children for the past 24 years.

Toys for children up to 18 years old are collected each year.

“We hope, with your support, we can make this season a success and continue passing along the generosity of the community to those in need,” said a press release from the Roundup.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any of the following locations:

• Port Aransas City Hall, 710 W. Ave. A.

• Port Aransas EMS office, 628 W. Ave. A.

• Port Aransas Police Department, 705 W. Ave A.

• Family Center IGA, 416 S. Alister St.

• Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce, 403 W. Cotter Ave.

• American Bank, 216 S. Alister St.

• ValueBank Texas, 500 S. Alister St.

• Pioneer RV Beach Resort, 120 Gulfwind Drive

• Gulf Water Beach Front RV Resort, 5601 State Highway 361.

• Dollar General Store, 1815 State Highway 361.

• CVS, 710 State Highway 361.

• Deep Sea Headquarters, 440 W. Cotter Ave.

• ACE Hardware, 1115 State Highway 361.

• Cinnamon Shore, 5009 State Highway 361.

• Seafood and Spaghetti Works, 910 State Highway 361.

• Parks and recreation office, 106 Cut-off Road.

If folks would rather donate cash or checks to the effort, deliver or mail the donation to Port Aransas City Hall.

Checks should be made out to “Emergency Services Toy Roundup” and mailed to 710 W. Ave. A, Port Aransas, TX 78373.

“Please help us continue to succeed in our efforts and provide the children of Port Aransas another wonderful Christmas,” the release said.
