In December the Port Aransas Art Center will feature art from area middle and high school students in the annual Student Art Exhibition in the gallery.
The exhibition will open at the First Friday reception on Friday, Dec. 2, and remain in the gallery throughout the month.
Stop by the art center between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. for refreshments and live music while viewing the student art.
If folks can’t make it to the show’s opening, they can stop by the art center any time during art center hours to view the works in the gallery.
On Fridays and Saturdays, all are invited to drop by between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to enjoy a glass of wine while viewing the gallery during Sip and Shop.
The Student Art Exhibition will include middle school and high school artists from Port Aransas ISD, Flour Bluff ISD and Seashore Charter Schools on North Padre Island.
Judges will review the artwork and award first, second, third place, honorable mention and best of show awards to the students.
The entries will have been judged before the show opens at the reception.
The award winners will be announced at a reception for the students and their parents on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the art center.
The DeLeon Group is the sponsor for December.
The art center, located at 104 N. Alister St., is open Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sunday.
