The Lady Marlins improved to three and three in district after a 13-4 win over La Villa on Friday, March 27.

It was a team effort led by Jordan Butterfield on the mound who pitched an “excellent game,” according to Coach Steve Reaves.

Butterfield had seven strike outs, zero walks and four earned runs, that Reaves called “a very solid performance.”

As a team, “The girls played very well. We put the ball in play consistently all game. Also, our defense is continuing to improve. It was our second solid game in a row on defense,” Reaves said.

“With Jordan throwing like this, and our defense playing well, we can play with anybody,” he added.

Leading hitters: Kelsey Ortiz, 4 for 5 with a double and a triple, scored 4 runs; Kelsey Cartwright, 2 for 3, scoring 2 runs; Tarryn Murray, 2 for two with two walks; Emily Scott, on base 5 times, scoring 3 runs.
