Port Aransas City Council to meet TuesdayFree Access

The Port Aransas City Council will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at Council Chambers in City Hall, 710 W. Ave. A.

Following is on the council agenda:

 

  1. CALL TO ORDER
    CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REPORTS:
    At this time, comments will be taken from the audience on any subject matter. To address the City Council, please sign the ‘Speaker’s Card located on the table just inside the Council Chamber and deliver to the City Secretary before the meeting begins. Please limit comments to three (3) minutes. In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Council may not discuss or take action on any item that has not been posted on the Agenda.
    3. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
    The City Council will conduct a Closed Executive Session in compliance with:
    · Section 551.071 of the Texas Open Meetings Act to meet with its attorney to seek legal
    advice on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the City Council under the
    Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly
    conflicts with the Texas Open Meetings Act regarding a notice of potential claim filed
    by Richard “Rick” Adams against the City and City Councilmember Tina Mott.
    4. OPEN SESSION:
    The City Council will reconvene into Open Session and may take action regarding the matters which are the subjects of the above agenda item “3. Closed Executive Session.”
    5. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION:
    Discuss, take action or pass on any of the following:
    A. Discuss and take possible action on Trojan Street Subdivision CUD. Applicant: 521 Trojan LLC, Richard Schroer. Property Location: 521 Trojan St. (Councilmember Krueger)
    B. Update and general discussion on the Old Town Preservation Advisory Board to include: board meeting, staff contact, and any other items City Council wishes the Old Town Preservation Advisory Board to address. (Councilmember Krueger)
    C. Discuss and take possible action on using city Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funding

for the development of a ferry fast pass program to address affordable housing issues. (Councilmember Sieloff)
D. Update and general discussion on the City Comprehensive Plan.
