Monday, May 30
2:59 a.m. • Driving by Jerry McDonald Field in the 200 block of South Alister Street, an officer noticed three people fighting. As the officer approached, one of the people started walking south on Alister Street. The officer recognized him from an earlier encounter when the man was yelling on his cell phone and causing alarm to people in the area. He had an odor of alcohol and slurred speech. The 20-year-old from Cedar Park was deemed to be a danger to himself and was arrested for PI (public intoxication).
5:55 p.m. • Two people riding in the bed of a pickup at Pole 35 On the Beach fell out when the truck drove over soft sand. Both refused treatment by the EMS.
8 p.m. • A golf cart flipped over in the 600 block of South Cutoff Road, but there were no injuries or citations.
Tuesday, May 31
12:23 p.m. • Talk about high and dry. An officer was flagged down about an Infiniti sedan that was “high-centered” on its axle in the 400 block of West Cotter Avenue. A woman was in the passenger seat with the ignition turned off. The 67-year-old from Austin was arrested for PI.
Wednesday, June 1
8:45 a.m. • A northbound Ford 250 pickup pulling a trailer slowed down because of traffic and hit the Chevy Express van that was in front of it, causing the pickup and trailer to spin, which then caused the Dodge Ram 1500 behind the pickup-trailer to run into it. No injuries were sustained, and no citations were issued to drivers involved in the accident in the 5000 block of State Highway 361.
1:31 p.m. • When he let a 12-year-old boy drive a golf cart at Pole 23 On the Beach, a 33-year-old man from Round Rock was stopped by police. The stop resulted in the man being arrested on parole violation warrants for assault-family violence. The golf cart and the child were released to a friend who was in the cart. The relationship between the man and the 12-year-old was not specified.
6:19 p.m. • A minor fire erupted in a food truck in the parking lot in the 200 block of Snapdragon.
11:11 p.m. • A vehicle backing out of a parking space at a convenience store in the 500 block of West Cotter Avenue hit another a vehicle and failed to stop. The driver who left the scene was later stopped, and he said that he did not realize he had struck another vehicle. An accident report was taken.
Thursday, June 2
11:32 a.m. • An argument erupted between two women and a man in the 300 block of North Alister Street over what inventory should remain for the new owners of a business. The parties agreed to meet the following day to resolve the issue.
11:57 a.m. and 1:55 p.m. • A complaint about fraudulent activity was reported in the 2700 block of South 11th Street. An investigation is pending.
2:59 p.m. • An officer warned the owner of an RV parked at Pole 28 On the Beach about the city ordinance requiring RVs to park perpendicular to the water.
Friday, June 3
6:16 a.m. • A homeowner in the 300 block South Station complained about multiple vehicles blocking her driveway. Parking citations were issued.
11:20 a.m. • Police received a complaint about a baby sitting in the front seat on a person’s lap at Alister Street and Avenue G, but the infant was in the car seat when officers made contact with the car’s passengers.
6:27 p.m. • A man and a woman in a dating relationship engaged in an argument without physical violence in the 700 block of Sea Breeze Lane. The man found another place to stay for the night.
Saturday, June 4
12:42 a.m. • A 51-year-old man from Tomball was arrested for PI in the 700 block of Trout Street after he refused to leave a bar where he was making unwanted advances to another man.
1:22 a.m. • A wrecked golf cart was found abandoned in the middle of the road at North Station and Brown Streets where it sat with the lights on. It was impounded.
1:36 a.m. • A 56-year-old woman from San Marcos was arrested for PI in the 300 block of South Alister Street after she was asked to leave a bar. She refused to take a taxi that was called for her. She was arrested to prevent her from driving.
2:15 a.m. • Police received a complaint about a man holding a rifle in the 800 block of Tarpon Street, but no weapon was found.
2:56 a.m. • A truck was keyed in the 700 block of Trout Street causing $400 in damage, but no suspect was found.
4:32 a.m. • A 22-year-old woman was reported missing from Pole 3 On the Beach. She reappeared five hours later, explaining that she fell asleep on the balcony of the wrong condo.
9:08 a.m. •A grass fire was extinguished after about 30 minutes in the 100 block of South 11th Street by the fire department.
10:23 p.m. • An unattended bonfire was extinguished at Pole 8.5 On the Beach by the fire department.
Sunday, June 5
7:13 a.m. • Graffiti was written on the mirror and a partition in a ball field men’s room at the 700 block of Clark Parkway, causing about $100 in damage.
8:35 a.m. • The front quarter panel of a truck was scraped by another vehicle at a hotel in the 700 block of South 11th Street, causing $500 in damage.
4:15 p.m. • A sick person driving in the 5000 block of Highway 361 received a warning for passing on a shoulder. When advised there was a medical emergency, officers called EMS for a transport to Bay Area Hospital.
5:01 p.m. • An illegal parking citation was issued to a vehicle at Pole 16 On the Beach.
11:18 p.m. • A 55-year-old man from Northlake driving 30 mph on the beach with an open container and smelling of alcohol was arrested for felony DWI (driving while intoxicated) after failing sobriety tests.
