If you have watched television for any length of time over the past six years or so, you have seen the guy with his cell phone going to different places asking the person on the other end of the line, “Can you hear me now?”

He’s been through tunnels, wheat fields, stock tanks, the North Pole, etc. We got the point: “The network” is all over the place.

God’s word gives us some specific instructions on prayer: 1Th 5:17 NLT Never stop praying. Obviously, God doesn’t mean we have to be on our knees with hands folded 24/7/365. But when you are praying, have you ever felt like asking, “God, hello…are you up there…can you hear me now?”

In my life there seems to be times when my prayers are answered very easily or quickly. Then there are times when I pray and I feel like my prayers don’t make it past the ceiling.

For the next six weeks at First Baptist Church of Port Aransas we are going to look at how to make our prayers more effective by looking at prayer problems, the truth about pray-ers, the power of unanswered prayers, the potential of our prayers, Jesus’ words on practicing prayer, and the promises of prayer. We invite you to join us in re-discovering the power of prayer in our lives.
