What is it about love?

God loves us. He says we need to love each other. Then, why do we often find it so hard to love?

It is more likely that we want to be accepted. We want people to approve of us. We want others to think we are successful, but what God really wants is for us to love; love Him, love our selves, and love each other.

I once heard a minister say that we need to love everyone, but that we are not always going to like everyone. I have even said it myself. So how do you love someone and not like them at the same time?

I believe God’s main goal is for us to love…not the way the world has taught us, but the way that He has taught us. So many times in the Bible He found people in sin and loved them anyway. He didn’t wait for them to be saved first. He loved them first!

We have a saying at our church: “You catch them and God will clean them up.” Usually the opposite happens. We want them to come into the church and get “saved”, clean up their act and if they follow the rules, we let them in.

We say WWJD (what would Jesus do?), but are we living it? Are we doing that?

If we don’t have a good connection with God, how can we connect to the church?

Our dependency needs to be on Jesus alone, not on what others think of us or whether or not we meet their expectations. God loves you and He always will, no matter what you have done, no matter who you are. He loves you!

Maybe we should start trying to do the same for others: Loving them no matter what they have done or who they are.

I write from my heart today, and I hope that you receive this and we can all learn to walk in love.

God loves you and so do I!
