PAHS team tops out at third round of Challenge!

Port Aransas High School’s Challenge! team moved deeper into the competition for the first time this year “than in a few years,” said team coach and PAHS Principal David Swartwout.

The team advanced to the third round before going down to a team from Gregory-Portland High School, Swartwout said.

The final score was 155-215, with Jesica Harder Neely, Dylan Stebbins and Sofia Pressley competing in that match. Neely went on to represent PAHS in the all-star match. She was one of 12 students from all schools in the competition who were selected from all 120 students.

Other PAHS team members were Stefan Deason and Avica Burrill.

Challenge! is a competition in which students from 24 high schools in the region match academic wits on the show that was aired on Thursday evenings on KEDT-TV during the school year.
