PAHS ramps up for district

Port Aransas High School’s track team headed into a torrent of rain Thursday, March 25.

The stormy weather held the Ingleside track meet to running events and just a few field events.

“After the rain passed through, the weather was nice for a track meet. It was a little windy, but it always is in South Texas,” said Coach Steve Reaves.

“The kids competed well. One thing that I like about this group, is I always know I am going to get their best effort. You can’t ask for much more as a coach,” he added.

The team filled its “dance card” for Saturday, April 4, and will compete at Skidmore to prepare for the district meet in Ben Bolt on Wednesday, April 8.

“We are just trying to fine-tune a few things and get ready to run, throw and jump,” Reaves said.
