Overturned

Bill Brown of Drexel, Mo., ties ropes to his overturned boat in the surf between Horace Caldwell Pier and Avenue G Wednesday, April 3. Brown and friend Stan Longmore of North Platte, Neb., were using a truck on shore to try to pull the vessel out of the surf. The boat became swamped after an anchor line became entangled in the boat engine’s prop while the two were fishing off the south jetty. The boat over turned, and the men were rescued by the Coast Guard. The boat later floated to the pier, got caught between pilings, then washed ashore.
