One-act play team advances to area

Port Aransas High School’s one-act play members performed in Kenedy on Thursday, March 23, in the bi-district competition. Port Aransas High School’s one-act play team members advanced to area competition after competing in UIL competition on Thursday, March 23.

The team performed “Bus Stop” by William Inge at the bi-district competition at Kenedy High School.

Seniors Aubrey Sergeant and Hunter Frost received allstar cast honors.

In addition to Sergeant and Frost, team members include Matthew Daugird, Will Garner, Sunny Maynard, Mat Allen, Nathan Murray, Ethan King, Tatem Shoemaker, Christian Pitney, Toby Suphachai, Madi Sheffield and Andrew Lallier.

“The play is a simple character study of the relationships that are formed by a small group of people snowed in at a bus stop diner,” said Danny Reyes, theater arts teacher.

The team will perform at the area competition on Saturday, April 1, at Falfurrias High School at a time to be announced.
