New show announced

One Act Play


Port Aransas Community Theatre announces its next production, “On Death’s Doorstep,” a one- act play written by Walt Ellis.

“On Death’s Doorstep” is directed by Salle Ellis, who recently directed “ Ebby Scrooge” and starred as Ouiser Boudreaux in “Steel Magnolias.”

The play is the story of members of a community theater who are preparing to rehearse their latest play when the leading man is murdered. The cast is gathered together to undergo questioning when much bickering, finger pointing and confusion occurs as the mystery of “who done it” is revealed.

“It makes for a night of fun and laughter for both the audience and the actors,” said Ellis.

The cast is made up of Chip Cooper as Victor, the leading man and murder victim; Debbie Hood as Daisey, the leading lady; Vivian Carlson as Sybil, a wannabe leading lady; Rick Adams as Paul, a wannabe leading man; Sally Jo Bartlett as Jean, the theater director; Kelly Stringer as Louise, the theater stage manager; Teddi Giggy as Dolly, the theater cleaning lady; Judith Greer as Detective Williams, the sheriff department detective and Gene Giggy as Deputy Garr, sheriff deputy.

The production opens Thursday, May 22, and runs to Sunday, May 25. Show times are Thursday – Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, 2:30 p.m.
