Coach James Garrett said the Marlins’ aggressiveness is not their problem.
“Once again, we battled. That’s definitely not our problem – we really play hard and practice hard in the days before the games. What we have to do now is play smart – we have to know what is going on before the ball is pitched and think about what needs to be done if the ball is hit our way. If we can turn that corner, we might really become a pretty good ball club, “ Garrett said.
On the bright side, pitching has been great all year and the Marlins turned the corner to become a pretty good offensive team – and even better defensive team, Garrett said.
“It’s this last part of ‘baseball I.Q.’ that we as a team must get handled,” he said.
