Anglers also brought in red snapper, redfish, sheepshead, blackfin tuna, yellowfin tuna, barracuda and vermilion snapper, according to assistant manager Nina Sifuentes.

Robin Williams of Dolphin Dock said fishermen there caught oversized redfish and red snapper inshore.

Offshore, the main hauls were kingfish, vermilion snapper, yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna and wahoo.

Fishermen reeled in sheepshead, flounder, trout, redfish, blackfin tuna and yellowfin tuna during trips out of Fisherman’s Wharf, according to employee Eddie Sheppard.

Blake Wallingsford, who manages the shop Keepers on Horace Caldwell Pier, said he saw mostly whiting and some sand trout caught from the pier.

A report by Capt. Doug Stanford for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said the jetties had good fishing for sheepshead, redfish and some trout biting on shrimp.

State waters also had red snapper, he said.
