Majek boat owners will compete for trophies, prizes and a new boat at the 2022 Majek Boat Owners Tournament set for Friday, and Saturday, Aug. 12 and 13.
Registration for the tournament closed on Monday, Aug. 1.
The tournament will begin with on-site check-in on Friday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion at Roberts Point Park.
Dinner for contestants will begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7 with pro tips and a captain’s meeting. Drawings, door prizes and a group photo will take place from 7:45 to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, fishing begins at safelight, with the exact time to be given at the captains’ meeting.
Live bait, dead bait and artificial lures may be used. Members of the team can wade fish from their boats. Teams may launch at any location and may bring their fish to the marina by boat or by vehicle.
Target fish are redfish between 20 and 28 inches and speckled sea trout between 20 and 23 inches.
The weigh- in will be held at Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion. Weigh-in times will be between 2 and 4 p.m. Tournament prizes will be awarded at 4:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
The final event is the drawing for a 2022 Majek boat and trailer rig at 6 p.m.
