The Little Mermaid coming to PACT
A musical about a magical kingdom under the sea will open for a three-week run at the Port Aransas Community Theatre on Thursday, July 21.
“Disney’s The Little Mermaid” will run Thursday through Sunday, July 21 through Aug. 7.
Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $22 per person for adults and $17 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased online at www.portaransascommunitytheatre.com.
The PACT provided the following information about the production:
“A beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave for the world above.
“Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, ‘Disney’s The Little Mermaid’ is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.
“With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including ‘Under the Sea,’ ‘Kiss the Girl’ and ‘Part of Your World’ “
Meredith Melville, a full-time instructor at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Department of Theatre and Dance, is the director.
