Rev. Albert Lawrence Leveridge, of Corpus Christi, died February 28, 2010, at age 76. He was the former vicar of Trinity-by-the- Sea Episcopal Church in Port Aransas.

Leveridge attended Fort Worth Polytechnic High School and graduated from North Texas University, where he met and married Judy Latta in 1954.

After serving two years in the Army, he returned to Fort Worth to run the family business, 3L Convenience Stores, later managing Blue Ribbon Frozen Foods, another family operation.

Beginning in 1974, he studied for two years at Perkins Theological School and completed his Master’s of Divinity at Seabury Western Theological School in Evanston, Ill. He was ordained in Wilmette, Ill., then served for 17 years at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Wauconda, Ill.

The Leveridges returned to Texas in 1998 to serve in Brady, followed by Devine and Cotulla, then to Trinity-bythe Sea in Port Aransas. He retired after seven years in Port Aransas, then served as interim at St. Phillips in Beeville for a year.

Leveridge is preceded in death by his parents, M.S. and Beverley Leveridge, and one brother, M.S. Jr.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Cindi (Russell Madalone) Leveridge, Kelly (Bill) Curley, Amy (Julian) Osorio, and five grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 6, at 2 p.m., in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 700 South Upper Broadway Street in Corpus Christi.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent in care of the Diocese of West Texas, P.O. Box 6885, San Antonio, TX 78209, designated for the Al Leveridge Scholarship Fund for Spiritual Retreats for the Recovering Community.
