Lady Marlins sink the Badgers, 14-2

The Lady Marlins destroyed the Lady Badgers 14-2 while in Ben Bolt on Tuesday, March 25.

“We started a little slow at the plate but our bats came alive after the second time through the lineup,” coach Jonathan Sheffield said.

After scoring 14 runs on 14 hits, the Lady Marlins prevailed, giving them a flawless 6-0 district record and 13-4 overall season record.

Pitcher Savannah Ortiz picked up the win in the seventh inning and gave Ben Bolt something to worry about with five strikeouts during the game.

Julie Johnson lead the last inning with a solo homerun just after Summer Hernandez added three points with a home run, Sheffield said.

“We played solid defense making several key plays throughout the game,” he said.
