Lady Marlins fly past Lady Eagles on way to 30-9 win




The junior varsity Lady Marlins opened with a lead and never looked back when they opened district play with a 30-9 win on Friday, Jan. 4.

They hosted Woodsboro’s Lady Eagles who never found their footing and had trouble finding the basket. The Lady Eagles never scored more than four points in a quarter, and were held to one point in the second quarter.

Jordan Morris paced the Lady Marlins’ scoring effort, sending 12 points through the nets. Murray followed with eight points. Mel Mc- Cann added another three points, While Carlie Munoz, Bailey Gray and Ashley Mack contributed two points apiece and Ashten Snyder scored on a free throw.

The win, in addition to giving them an opening win in district, put their season record at 9-4.

The Lady Marlins hosted Ben Bolt on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and will have the night off Friday, Jan. 11, as Benavides, the varsity’s opponent on the road, does not have a junior varsity squad.
