Another demonstration of the Double Diamond Ruler will be given at a Port Aransas Style, Neighborhood Group of the American Sewing Guild meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m.

Club members and those wishing to become members are invited to Donna’s Sewing and Alterations, 600 Cut-off Road, to watch Karen Larsen demonstrate how use of the ruler makes fast and distinctive dimensional diamond shapes for quilt blocks, sashings, borders and more.

The American Sewing Guild is a national non-profit organization dedicated to people who believe sewing is a rewarding and creative activity, and welcomes sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels.

The Port Aransas group is part of the ASG Corpus Christi area and has an active community service program with projects including blankets for the Linus Project at Driscoll Children’s Hospital for children and teens in crisis.

Members are encouraged to bring “show and tell” items, a sewing machine and a friend.
