Young surfers are invited to compete in the annual Texas Surf Camps Trick-or-Treat Halloween Surf Contest on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The contest will begin at 1 p.m. near Horace Caldwell Pier.

All contestants must wear costumes to compete. The competition will be divided into two divisions, 12 and under and 13 and up.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costume. Each competitor must catch and ride at least one wave to be judged in the contest.

The entry fee is $20 per surfer.

In addition, the day will include a tandem surfing event, a silent auction and the always-exciting Rubber Ducky Race.

Folks can purchase rubber duckies for $20 per duck to enter the race. The ducks will be dropped in the surf all at the same time, and the owner of the first duck to the shore will win a surfboard. Folks may purchase as many ducks as they wish. The winner does not have to be present.

All proceeds will be given to the Port Aransas Youth Development Foundation to help fund Project Graduation, organizers said.

Project Graduation is a substance free, graduation night lock-in party for Port Aransas High School graduates.

To register for the event and to purchase rubber ducks for the race, go to www.texassurfcamps.com.
