A group of bicyclists pass through Port Aransas on Sunday, June 6, 1993. The cyclists were participating in a 68-mile race from Corpus Christi through Port Aransas. The racers left Corpus Christi at about 7 a.m. and made it through Port Aransas around 8:30 a.m. in spite of high winds. Some cyclists stopped for water and Gatorade at Bull’s Gym and for water and ice at Whataburger while passing through town. This photo originally appeared in the June 10, 1993 edition of the South Jetty.
