The handrails at the pier at Charlie’s Pasture have been installed. The next steps that have to take place before the pier opens is an ADA inspection on the ramp and leveling and filling of the land in the area, according to Lawrence Cutrone, assistant city manager. As of Monday, Sept. 11, no opening date for the pier was yet set, said Leo Wood, senior project manager with Broaddus Associates, a firm that has been hired by the City of Port Aransas to help the city with Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. However, a date could be scheduled for the end of next week, Wood said.
