Art center hosts wildlife photo exhibit, book signing


The First Friday reception at the Port Aransas Art Center features a winners’ exhibit from the Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest. The photographs featured in the exhibit are included in the ‘Wildlife in Focus’ books. Along with the photographs on display, Port Aransas author Devorah Fox will be on site to sign her latest book.

An opportunity to view award-winning wildlife photography awaits at the First Friday reception on Friday, July 4.

 

 

Stop by the Port Aransas Art Center as it hosts the Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest winners’ exhibit (CBWPC) from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments and live music as well as a book signing by Devorah Fox who will be there with her latest book, “The King’s Redress.”

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Fox now lives in Port Aransas.

“The King’s Redress” is the third book of the “The Bewildering Adventures of King Bewilliam,” series.

The art center has hosted every CBWPC winners’ exhibit since its inception. It is a traveling exhibit that displays the winning photos from the “Wildlife in Focus” books. The last book was “Wildlife in Focus VI.”

 

 

The photography contest is held on odd numbered years and any professional or amateur photographer is eligible to submit entries.

Linda and Charlie Zahn, the South Jetty Newspaper and Fox are sponsors of the July First Friday.

The art center is a 501(c)(3) organization located at 323 N. Alister St.
