Forest open to public through Wednesday


Get into the Christmas spirit by stopping by the Civic Center to see the display of decorated trees in the Enchanted Holiday Forest.

Individuals, families, organizations and businesses have decorated trees with their interpretations of this year’s theme, “The Magic of Christmas.”

The forest is open to the public through Wednesday, Dec. 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the annual event and has set up a tree titled “America Honors and Remembers.”

The tree honors veterans, fallen heroes and current U.S. military personnel who have connections to Port Aransas.

Stop in and see the trees decorated by the following organizations: Port Aransas City Hall, Cub Scout Troop Pack 29, K-Kids and Builders Club of Port Aransas ISD, Principal Gina McKeever and H. G. Olsen Elementary School staff, Port A History Club of H. G. Olsen Elementary, Port Aransas Garden Club, First Baptist Church, Girl Scout Troop 9826, Keep Port Aransas Beautiful, Camp Marlin, Port Aransas Community Theatre, homeschool kids, City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation employees and grounds crew, Parrot Heads of Port Aransas, Port Aransas High School hospitality and tourism class, Trinity- by- the- Sea Day School, Port Aransas Realty and the Port Aransas Rotary Club.

There is no admission to the Enchanted Holiday Forest, however donations of dry or canned goods for the Port Aransas Helping Hands Food Pantry will be accepted.

Make sure to sign in when you visit the forest because money will be donated to the Emergency Services Toy Roundup for each person who visits.
