Cruise tickets selling fast




Don’t miss your once-a-year opportunity to dine and dance under the stars on a cruise along the Lydia Ann Channel.

The Rotary Club’s annual Champagne Cruise and Mini- Taste of Port Aransas is set for Friday, Sept. 9, aborad the Wharf Cat out of Fisherman’s Wharf.

The tax-deductible tickets may be purchased at the Family Center IGA, 418 S. Alister St., and Bilmore and Son Hardware Store, 115 N. Alister St. As of Monday, only five tickets were available, four at the IGA and one at Bilmore. The event is typically a sell-out as residents and visitors look forward to the evening on the water, watching the sun set and sampling island cuisine from virtually all of the restaurants in Port Aransas.

Wine, beer and champagne also will await those who take part. Live music and dancing will be available on the top deck of the boat.

This annual event, hosted by the Rotary Club, is unique in that 100 percent of all services, food and drink are donated by the community and 100 percent of the proceeds are returned to the community by the Rotary Club. Profits from the cruise benefit projects directed toward the youth of Port Aransas.
