Community Presbyterian Church Christmas Shoppe

Holiday gifts, treats, more await shoppers

Ringing in the Christmas shopping season will be the annual Christmas Shoppe by the Presbyterian Women of the Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Dec. 4.

The event will be open from 8 a.m. to noon, in the Pollock Center, behind the church at 113 S. Alister St.

Presbyterian Women members have been working like Christmas elves, making and gathering all manner of Christmas gourmet goodies, prizes for drawings, craft items, slightly used and silent auction items.

Frozen dinners, home-baked goods, cookies, candies and other “yummies” will be for sale at the Gourmet Shoppe. They will be packaged as gifts ready to give.

A Second-hand Rose section will display gently used collectibles and decorations.

Tables will be covered with handmade craft and country gift items for attendees to browse through and purchase.

A silent auction and prize drawings also will be included in the fun.

Among items in the silent auction are cypress Santas, made by former resident Donna Farley Blanchard, a stained-glass angel by Rita Reed, needlework by Joan Snyder and hand-knitted baby sweaters by Paula Harbaugh.

The drawing prizes may be seen and tickets may be purchased at the church office and at the event.

Proceeds from the sales will be added to the Presbyterian Women’s scholarship program. Scholarships are given to Port Aransas High School seniors each year by the Presbyterian Women.

To donate food or merchandise for the sale, call Arlene Hughes at 749-4717.
