The Coast Guard transported a 50-year-old crewman to emergency medical services from a fishing vessel off Port Aransas on Friday, Oct. 14.
The Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi command center received a report at 6:25 p.m. over the radio that a crew member of a Capt. Michael II, an 89-foot commercial fishing vessel, had sustained a head injury about 30 miles east of Port Aransas, according to a Coast Guard news release.
The Coast Guard station in Port Aransas responded and launched a 45-foot boat to conduct the transport.
Once on scene, Coast Guard personnel brought the injured man onto their boat and took him to Fisherman’s Wharf in Port Aransas. There they transferred him to emergency medical services personnel. The man was in stable condition, according to the news release.
The news release did not identify the injured man.
