The Brundrett Middle School girls’ basketball teams finished good seasons with a couple of tough games against Woodsboro on Monday, Feb. 7.
The seventh-grade team lost, 14-26, while the eighth-grade team finished at 17 points to Woodsboro’s 19.
The overall record was 6-5 for the seventh-graders and 7-4 for eighth grade.
Coach Javier Mendoza said having effort from the girls was never an issue and they improved as the season went on, but multiple game cancellations due to weather made it difficult for the players to have a “flow” and keep up spirits.
Despite this, Mendoza said it was still a good and fun year for them.
“The girls will be moving on, they’ll be improving in high school and they’ll be representing,” he said. “They’ll do well.”
The seventh-grade players who scored were Maddie Stunz, with 6 points; Juniper Landolt, 3; Berlynn Warnick, 3, and Lilly Nixon, 2.
The eight-grade players who got points were Emma Crawford, with 11 points; Raquel Merritt, 2; Brooke Jones, 2; and Eva Baker, 2.
