BMS girls chalk up victories

Chalk up a couple of wins over Kenedy for the Lady Marlins of Brundrett Middle School.

The eighth-grade Port Aransas girls beat their counterparts, 23-19, while the the seventh-graders from BMS buried their opponents, 58-4.

The games were played in Kenedy on Monday, Nov. 14.

“Both teams did a better job (than in previous games) of running offenses and defensively played better,” said Javier Mendoza, who coaches Port A’s seventh- and eighth-grade girls.

Kylee Craig – 4
Halle Fish – 2

Seventh-grade Lady Marlin Scorers:

Berlynn Warnick – 2
Arie Beckham – 5
Madeline Stunz – 16

The BMS girls next will play Yorktown at home on Monday, Nov. 28. The seventh-graders’ game will start at 5:30 p.m., to be immediately followed by the eighth-graders’ game.
