February brings the annual Whooping Crane Festival to Port Aransas and the Port Aransas Art Center will celebrate the annual return of the birds to their winter habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
To celebrate the whooping cranes, four of which are wintering in Port Aransas this season, the art center will feature birding related art in the February exhibition.
Art center member artists have been invited to show their work at the Celebrating the Return of the Whooping Crane Show.
The exhibition will open at the First Friday reception on Friday, Feb. 3.
While viewing the works of the artists, enjoy fellowship, light refreshments and live music from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The works will be on display in the gallery through the end of February.
Visitors also are invited to the Sip and Shop each Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to enjoy a glass of wine while strolling through the art center to view the works.
As part of the Whooping Crane Festival, a reception will be held at the art center on Thursday, Feb. 23, for registered festival attendees.
