PAISD classes delayedFree Access

A chance of snow and ice will delay the start of Port Aransas ISD classes two hours on Friday, Dec. 8, according to Superintendent Sharon McKinney.

School typically starts at 8 a.m., but tomorrows day is set to begin at 10 a.m.

The delay is for all student and staff members, unless staff is told otherwise by their immediate supervisor, McKinney said.

With the delay, buses will be picking students up two hours later than normal, McKinney wrote in an email to PAISD staff members.

“So if a student usually gets on the bus at 7:05 am, they will board the bus at 9:05am,” she wrote.

High school students who start school later than normal due to their schedules must also be at class by 10 a.m.

McKinney said the delay is necessary with so many folks living outside of Port Aransas because of damage to their homes.
