New fire vehicle
Council members Kelly Owens, left, Tanya Chambers, center, and Jo Ellyn Krueger check out the Port Aransas Fire Department’s new vehicle called Brush 4. The vehicle is a John Deere UTV and will be used to fight fires where a regular fire truck wouldn’t be able to go. Fire Chief Adam Maldonado said the vehicle cost about $40,000.
City Council picks beach concessionaire
Port Aransas Local Company doing business as Southern Coast Open will be the city’s new beach concessionaire starting Jan. 1 until the end of 2023.
