Visitor Center at UTMSI now open every day



A popular Port Aransas destination, The University of Texas Marine Science Institute’s Visitor Center is now open on weekends. The Visitor Center located on Cotter Avenue on the way to the beach, was recently remodeled and has an enlarged gift shop with marine-themed books, jewelry and gifts. Flying leap



Just for fun, Ryan Payne, 18, of Austin takes a flying leap from the top of his truck, which was parked on the beach near Lantana Drive on Sunday, May 25. He hit the sand, took a roll and came up smiling and unhurt. Payne was among thousands who visited the beach in Port Aransas during the Memorial Day weekend.
