Big fish caught on offshore trips

Fishing remains consistant this week with great catches offshore and in the bays. An overnight trip over the weekend released a sailfish, while a 48-pound king mackerel was caught on an eight hour trip. Offshore trips this week brought back kingfish, sailfish, wahoo, shark, vermilion snapper, Spanish mackerel, amberjack and ling. These folks from San Antonio, Austin and Odessa brought back kingfish and vermillion snapper after a 12-hour overnight trip aboard the Scat Cat Saturday, May 15, with Capt. Ronnie Hale out of Fisherman’s Wharf.
